Auditions for aspiring members of Tappers With Attitude Youth Ensemble, Silver Spring's award-winning company known for innovation, top-notch tap training, and professional-quality ensemble work, will be held on January 14, 2009.

We are excited to announce that there is still some possible scholarship assistance available, thanks to Trawick Taps! This program, fully funded by the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation, allows us to provide scholarship assistance to successful audition candidates demonstrating financial need.

Tap dancers ages 10-and-up, currently working at an advanced beginner/intermediate level, are eligible to audition; all auditioning dancers are eligible to apply for scholarships, and are urged to bring their completed scholarship application packet to the audition. Final deadline to submit scholarship application is January 23, 2009.

Auditions will include technique work and observation by all three directors; participating dancers will be taught the audition combination as part of the audition. Dancers may also present a one-minute solo, if they wish.

During the audition session, there is also a mandatory meeting for parents of audition candidates. At least one parent per dancer must join current TWA parents for an informational session for prospective parents, including a question-and-answer period.
