Financial Aid for KOW Tap Students

From The Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation

Deadline: Open

Tappers With Attitude, Inc. is thrilled to partner with The Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation to offer financial aid to students of Knock On Wood Tap Studio. Recipients of this financial aid will receive funding for up to 1 year of classes at Knock on Wood.

Recipients will be chosen based on their commitment to advancing their tap dance education and on a demonstration of financial need. It is our hope that scholarship recipients will further their tap dance education during their scholarship years and beyond, as we believe that involvement with KOW helps youth develop responsibility, respect for the traditions and history of the art form, leadership, self-esteem, and stage presence.

All applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by the Tappers with Attitude, Inc. Trawick Taps! Financial Aid Committee. This committee will include TWA Board Members who do not have children involved with Knock On Wood Tap Studio, and volunteers selected by the TWA, Inc. Board of Directors.

Eligible applicants will be evaluated and ranked on the following factors:

  1. A short statement demonstrating financial need.
  2. Location of residence (while the program's target audience is at-need families in Montgomery County, residents from other jurisdictions are eligible for scholarship support).
  3. The quality of the applicant's brief letter.

The decisions of the Tappers With Attitude, Inc. Scholarship Committee will be final.
