Class Schedule & Information

2021 Summer Session is Virtual (taught online)

June 28 - August 14

No classes will be held:

   > July 3 - 5

Registration for Classes: We strongly encourage registration for a class series, since we need to know you're coming in order to keep our classes going! Drop-ins are always welcome, too... but if you know you'll be around, please register! And if you are new to us, or aren’t sure you are on a teacher’s Zoom list, please email us to be sure.

Class Cards are available for adult/teen fall classes ($20/class by paying for either 5 or 10 classes in advance). Class Cards are available online and are good for 6 months from purchase date. Single-class drop-in is $21.

* Please note that the class level is not equivalent to number of years of dance classes! If you are unsure what level to take, please contact us.

NEW! Protocol for In-Person Hybrid Classes

(Note: The 2-week adult in-person class is now full. Zoom attendance is still open.)

Knock on Wood Tap Studio’s top priority during the pandemic is protecting the health and safety of our students and faculty. We are following the Washington DC government’s guidance on health protocols. For the summer session, we are offering two classes that students can take online or at the studio. The classes are Intro to Tap, Adult/Teen and Level 1 for 4-6 year-olds. For each class, no more than five students may take the class in-person.

Here is the protocol for taking these classes in person:

  • Register for the class. Prior to each class, email knockonwoodtap@gmail.com to let us know if you want to participate in-person or online. We will accommodate requests for in-person on a first come, first served basis. Drop-ins that wish to come to the studio will also have to email KOW prior to a class to request permission.
  • You will have to sign a waiver if you come to the studio. Waivers must be emailed to the studio prior to class. You will only have to provide one signed waiver per full session. (Please download the waiver below the Summer schedule.)
  • All students and faculty must wear a mask at all times in the studio. We will have masks available if you forget to bring one.
  • Dancers must stand 6-feet apart while taking a class.
  • Do not come early – you cannot enter the studio until just before the class. If a parent is dropping off a student, we will greet you at the studio door. Only students and faculty may come into the studio. There is no waiting at the studio or in the building. It is essential that you pick up the student immediately after the class so we can clear the studio before the next class.
  • We are only using Studio A this summer and no one can go into the other studios at this time.
  • Sit only in designated chairs.
  • Do not come to the studio unless you are 100% healthy.

The studio will be equipped with hand sanitizer and other cleaning tools, fans, HEPA air purifiers, and we will clean surfaces that have been touched in-between each class. We will keep the main door to the studio open for air circulation.

Together, we can make these trial classes work and pave the way for dancing together in the future!

NOTES:

  • Classes are subject to cancellation if under-enrolled.
  • The 2-week adult in-person class is now full. Zoom attendance is still open.
  • Space is still available for the 4-6 year-old in-person class.
